I wonder, why do we spend so much time thinking our best isn’t great enough? Who drew the line of what’s good enough for us? And why do we continue to allow that to happen? Anyone ever asked themselves these questions? This is a trick question because I know we all do it. We humans are superb at judging ourselves through what we think others expect from us. Does this really help us? No! And we should stop, like now. ❤️power-up!
Here’s what I’ve realized. How dumb it was of me to think I was a mistake when I made mistakes. It’s no wonder I beat myself up. My thinking caught me up in a loop of telling myself I was a horrible human. Because no matter how hard I tried, I wasn’t good enough, but for who? I don’t even know! How much time did I waste doing this? Way too much freaking time, that’s how much! ❤️power-up!
So if you’re like how I used to be, or you’re realizing it just now, please let me help you. Listen up, you’re doing a great job! Even when it feels like everything is falling apart, you’re doing great. Even when it seems like the 100th time, you’ve trusted and been let down, you’re doing great. We get too caught up thinking everything has to be perfect. This is a lie, and it does nothing to serve your greater good. All we can do is the best we can at this very moment. ❤️power-up!
So what if you want to change this moment? Is this possible? Yes, but it takes some practice. First, raise your awareness, then ask better questions. Like, “Do I enjoy feeling this way?” or “Am I really all these things I keep telling myself I am?” or “Am I really the only one that bad things happen to?” Hint, you’re not alone. ❤️power-up!
Listen to your emotions. Write these things down. How do they make you feel? Ask another question. What would happen if I did the opposite of how I treat myself right now? What would that look like? Then take action.
Do the best you can at this moment to change your current behavioral patterns. Learn a new skill about yourself so you can use it next time. Oh yeah, there will be a next time, many of them.
But that’s life, right? This life thing isn’t easy, and it can be really messy, but you know what? The world is better ‘cause you’re in it. I appreciate you and your effort. You’re doing great, keep it up!
